2025 is set to bring a wave of exciting new releases that we will eagerly dive into, spending countless hours completing them! Previously, we introduced four of the most anticipated games of 2025, but there are many more. So, we’ve compiled a second part of our top picks!
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
🔹 Story
Former yakuza Goro Majima mysteriously finds himself on the Hawaiian islands. He remembers nothing—not even his own name, let alone why he set sail in the first place. As soon as he gets back on his feet, Majima gets into a brawl with pirates, making new enemies. To escape trouble, he takes on the role of a ship captain and embarks on a quest for treasure.
🔹 Why We’re Excited
This spin-off takes place after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In addition to the familiar city of Honolulu, players will be able to explore the surrounding islands of the archipelago. Traveling between them will be possible by ship, reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Majima can recruit a crew, engage in naval battles, and board enemy pirate ships.
Monster Hunter Wilds
🔹 Story
The protagonist arrives as part of an expedition in a region known as the Forbidden Lands, where they must hunt down a variety of monstrous creatures.
🔹 Why We’re Excited
Monster Hunter is one of the most consistent franchises in gaming history. Each installment follows a simple but addictive cycle: hunt monsters, collect materials, craft better gear, and then take on even stronger monsters. This loop continues endlessly.
Wilds builds upon the open-world elements introduced in Monster Hunter: World, offering vast landscapes and multiple biomes. In terms of traversal, Wilds follows the mechanics of Monster Hunter: Rise—but instead of riding Palamutes, players will travel on dinosaur-like creatures called Seikrets.
Atomfall
🔹 Story
The game is set in an alternative 1950s Britain, five years after an accident at the Windscale nuclear plant in northern England. A quarantine zone has been established around the area, and no one is allowed to leave. The protagonist is determined to uncover the true cause of the catastrophe.
🔹 Why We’re Excited
Atomfall is the latest project from Rebellion, the studio behind the Sniper Elite series for the past 12 years. While the team has gained a reputation for solid, low-budget games, Atomfall is their attempt to break into the big leagues, competing with studios like Bethesda.
The developers promise a compact but eventful open world set in British countryside towns. The atmosphere is fitting: working-class locals drink pints in pubs, while cultists and gangsters in trilby hats roam the ruins nearby. To survive in the quarantine zone, players must scavenge for supplies, craft makeshift weapons, and battle robots and mutants.
According to the Steam description, the story will be non-linear, with choices leading to multiple endings. The game’s concept looks intriguing—now we just hope it delivers more than just an interesting setting.
Conclusion
2025 will bring a wave of new releases—some may disappoint, while others will become cult classics, replayed for years to come. We can’t wait to see what the year has in store!
